Anticipated Launch of Overwatch 2 Season 7: What to Expect

Overwatch 2 Season 7 release is around the corner, officially slated for October 10, as declared in the Season 7 official trailer. The excitement is mounting among the gaming community, especially considering the expected buffs and nerfs to the Heroes.

Traditionally, each Overwatch season introduces a plethora of buffs and nerfs, as we witnessed in Season 6, and it looks like the upcoming Season 7 will be no different. Blizzard has plans to revamp the much-favored Hero, Sombra. In an exclusive interview, Aaron Keller, the key Level Designer for the game, expressed exciting news about significant changes to Sombra, including a brand-new skill.

Documented in a blog post on September 22, fans can expect a host of nerfs for a few favorite characters – Zarya, Orisa, and Torbjorn. Simultaneously, Mei and Zenyatta are set for major reworks, specifically related to their freeze and discord actions.

Always expect the unexpected with each game's new season. This time, fans eagerly wait to explore a new Control map – Samoa. This follows Blizzard's strategy of either introducing a new Hero or a new map with every season update. After the extraordinary Season 6, which offered DLCs, a new Hero, new maps, and a new game mode, Season 7 returns to its traditional rhythm with the addition of a new map.

Teased on September 26, the charming locale of Samoa captivated fans with a single image. A detailed sneak peek is expected on October 1, leading to intensified speculation among the gaming community. The layout of the map remains confidential, with rumors hinting at the much-awaited arrival of Hero Mauga linked to Samoa.

With October marking Halloween, Overwatch 2 Season 7 plans for the annual return of the Halloween Event. Termed as Rise of the Darkness, this event combines themes from Diablo 4, transforming Blizzard World into a horror-themed playground.

While we lack information on the new game mode, it's likely to resemble past Halloween game modes such as Junkerstein’s Revenge and Wrath of the Bride, which were both PvE brawl modes. Also, players can look forward to fresh skins, with Season 7's premium skin being the Onryō Hanzo, fully accessible at Battlepass' Tier 80. With the impending release of Season 7, players can expect an electrifying gaming experience.
