Anticipation Builds for Grand Theft Auto VI: Will it Meet the 2025 Release Target?

The excitement building around the forthcoming chapter of the Grand Theft Auto franchise remains strong, with fans eagerly awaiting updates. With a trailer revealing intriguing insights over a year ago, excitement has only heightened. Nevertheless, the lack of fresh information has led to various speculations, with some suggesting that the release may slip from 2025 to 2026. However, official word on this front seems unlikely to emerge before the premiere of Mafia: The Old Country.

Recent presentations shared with investors have confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI is still aiming for a release in the fall of 2025. Mafia: The Old Country is scheduled to debut in the upcoming summer months, prior to the anticipated launch of Borderlands 4, which will contribute to what is anticipated to set a new record year for the publisher.

It’s reasonable to assume that Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two, would prefer to announce any potential delays at the last moment to minimize impact on the company's market value. Thus, if the highly anticipated release of the game is indeed postponed to 2026, it is likely we wouldn’t receive confirmation until at least August. At this stage, it appears that both Rockstar and Take-Two are committed to facilitating the release of GTA VI in October or November as initially planned.

Do you share the hope that Grand Theft Auto VI will hit the market this year?
