Cyberpunk 2077 Rolls Out Its Final Major Patch with Update 2.1 and Ultimate Edition

CD Projekt has presented a detailed teaser and extensive patch notes for what's set to be Cyberpunk 2077's final substantial update. Contrary to earlier expectations that the Version 2.0 update would serve as the game's ultimate major patch, the developers unexpectedly proclaimed their intentions for another considerable upgrade.

Slated for a December 5 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, this upcoming patch promises to bring to life some of the most eagerly awaited improvements. Among these are a comprehensive metro system, a handy portable radio player, additional car races, opportunities to spend quality time with romantic partners, and enhanced boss confrontations. These updates are arriving in conjunction with the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition.

Key Highlight Features of Update 2.1:

- V, after sorting out their NCART City Pass issue, will be granted access to traverse 19 metro stations sprawled across Night City, using either the expedited fast-travel option or enjoying the cinematic journey aboard the train.
- Post-romance, V can now invite their partner to idle away their time at any of the in-game apartments, providing a never-ending event that triggers after concluding a character's romance arc.
- The novel Radioport feature lets gamers tune into the in-game radio station while navigating on foot or during train rides, effortlessly transitioning to the vehicle radio as needed, with the added perk of volume control directly via the radio interface.
- Repeatable car racing challenges unlocked after completing "The Beast in Me" quest are now marked on the map. Winning these races offers monetary rewards and discounts at the Autofixer website, with AI enhancement to ensure a highly competitive and enjoyable racing experience.
- To fully take in Night City's elaborate panoramas, sightseeing binoculars have been stationed at numerous picturesque locations.

The road to Cyberpunk 2077's launch was tumultuously paved with anticipation, yet upon release, it miserably stumbled with numerous technical setbacks. The RPG faced a rocky start with multiple pushbacks and a botched launch stricken with glitches, leading to compensation offers and a temporary delisting from the PlayStation Store.

Following half a year of rigorous patch deployment designed to enhance performance, Cyberpunk 2077 marked its return to Sony's digital storefront in mid-2021, as CD Projekt confirmed the game had attained a "satisfying" state.

Two years of dedicated efforts to refine and broaden the game brought CD Projekt to a milestone of surpassing 25 million Cyberpunk 2077 copies sold, with its sole expansion, Phantom Liberty, boasting over 4.3 million sales in just two months after its release, as reported by the studio.

Looking forward, CD Projekt has set its sights on the next installment of The Witcher series while also kick-starting the development process for a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel within its North American branches.
