Dynasty Warriors: Origins Producer Hypes “the Largest Armies Ever Seen in the Series”

Sony's recent State of Play event unveiled several fascinating news, among which was Omega Force's Dynasty Warriors: Origins. This newest addition to the franchise, as seen in the gameplay trailer, veers back to its original hack-and-slash gaming style, following the rather disappointing open-world experience offered by Dynasty Warriors 9.

Tomohiko Sho, the studio's producer and head, affirmed this direction shift in a recent PlayStation Blog. He also teased about featuring "unprecedentedly large armies" in the game series. The team is capitalizing on PS5’s capabilities (although it has also been announced that it will launch on PC and Xbox Series X/S), meaning gamers can anticipate gigantic armies as far as they can visualize.

Similar to past games, players can still singlehandedly fight against a thousand enemies, but coordination with allies is critically important. The protagonist for Dynasty Warriors: Origins will be a fresh face in the series—an original hero—who will make their journey and create a legacy in the tumultuous Three Kingdoms era. As usual, familiar generals and soldiers will also play a part.

Omega Force plans to release Dynasty Warriors: Origins in 2025 and assured that more information regarding the novel protagonist will be shared in the months ahead.
