According To A Report, Three Years After Launch, 83% Of Mobile Games Will Not Be Successful
Nov-27-2023
A recent report has unveiled some alarming data regarding mobile games. The report suggests that three years post-launch, 83% of these games fail, and nearly half (46%) are aborted during the development phase.
The study, conducted by Atomik Research for SuperScale's project Good Games Don't Die, was based on interviews with 500 game developers from the UK and the US and was shared with GamesIndustry.biz.
An additional intriguing finding from the research is that most mobile games reach their peak revenue within the initial 12 months. As many as 76% hit this milestone in their first year, but this drops dramatically to a mere 4% during their second year.
