An upcoming addition to the Batman: Arkham lineup is slated for launch, exclusively designed for the Meta Quest 3 VR platform.Titled Batman: Arkham Shadow, the title is under development by Camouflaj (renowned for Iron Man VR and Republique VR) in collaboration with Oculus Studios, working closely with Warner Bros and DC.
This latest installment offers a fresh narrative within the established Batman: Arkham series lore, anticipating a release in "late 2024." Additional information is pegged to be unveiled during Summer Game Fest in June.
"Darkness envelops the urban sprawl. Gotham City faces peril. And you are the solitary hope to thwart this menace." This is the essence of the announcement captured in the blog post.
Yet, the announcement remains elusive on specifics. After all, isn't this the central theme of all Batman narratives? The initial visuals suggest an atmosphere reminiscent of Batman Begins, and the teaser hints at an infestation of rodents as a potential challenge for Batman. This could signal the inclusion of a certain Ratcatcher.
Rocksteady, the acclaimed originator of the Batman: Arkham series, is curiously absent from the conversation, although it's noteworthy that Batman: Arkham Origins was brought to life by WB Montreal, which presently lends its expertise to Monolith's Wonder Woman title.
